Adnan Rashid
Adnan Rashid is a historian, author, researcher, speaker and collector whose work spans the history of the Islamic world and the Indian subcontinent, comparative religion, and Hadith literature. He holds an honours degree in History from the University of London and a Master’s degree in History from SOAS, University of London. He has also received ijazahs in Hadith from several scholars. He is currently pursuing higher studies in the UK.
Adnan Rashid is a published academic. His peer-reviewed research has been published by the Royal Asiatic Society through Cambridge University Press, including scholarship on the history and legacy of Tipu Sultan. His research and collecting interests extend to Islamic numismatics, ancient manuscripts and antiquarian books. He also shares these interests through Galleria Antiquarian, a specialist online destination for antiquarian books, manuscripts and numismatics.
Adnan brings history to life through talks, debates and guided history tours. His debate appearances have included international institutions like the University of Warsaw (Poland), the American University of Beirut (Lebanon) and Trinity College Dublin (Ireland), as well as universities in the UK. He has also appeared on media platforms including the BBC.
Alongside his historical work and speaking engagements, Adnan conducts a private consultation service on education and general advice. He has served as a khateeb in multiple London mosques and shares his knowledge of Islamic history and culture with diverse audiences.
